On Friday, February 27 at 8:30 a.m., local government units (LGUs), private & public schools, and private & government entities are urged to participate in the 1st Quarter Simultaneous Nationwide Earthquake Drill.
After the 1st nationwide earthquake drill on June 20, 2006, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo instructed that earthquake drills should be conducted on a quarterly basis and to further expand the participation to government and private offices and establishments.
The objective of the quarterly earthquake drills is to make the public aware of what to do in case an earthquake occurs in order to prevent casualties. (PIA-Cebu/FCR)
