24.4% increase in OFWs working in the past 11 months

Although there is a global crisis felt, there has been an increase in Pinoy workers wo went abroad to work in the past year.

According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), based on a hearsay by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, there has been a 24.4% increase in OFWs from 982,286 to 1,221,829 this past year.

Of the 24.4%, 90% are in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait ug Hong Kong.

But it is already predicted that the sending of Pinoy Workers abroad will slow down because of the effects of the crisis to the economy.

Although the BSP believes that there will still be a great need of OFWs in Canada, Bulgaria, Australia, and United Arab Emirates including Qatar.
