This coming October, the National Statistics Month (NSM) will be celebrated nationwide. It will focus on security sector with the theme, “Enhancing Security Sector Statistics for Good Governance, Peace and Sustainable Development. ”
This is in pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 signed by the late President Corazon Aquino on September 20 1990, declaring the month of October of every year as the NSM nationwide.
The is to promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics and at the same time ensure the support of the public in improving and enhancing the quality and standards of statistics in the country. (PIA)
