DOLE to develop grassroots skills registries

A ‘grassroots’ skills registry system data is now on the process of developing by the Department of Labor and Employment. This will facilitate easier job and worker search.

To be called the National Skills Registry System (SRS), the program shall make it easier for government to assess the demand situation for skills in the labor market, and enable it to make relevant policy for employment facilitation and generation.

Once set into place, the SRS, will combine the existing skills registries of utilized by the Phil-Job Net and the Public Employment Service Office.

The SRS is a technology-based (computerized) system which captures and updates in the Registry the skills and qualifications of interested workers. The system also lists down establishments and their job vacancies in the community for quick access by jobseekers and employers, both local and foreign. (PIA)
