Camp Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City (9 January) — Three members of the New People’s Army rebels surrendered to authorities in Lupon town in Davao Oriental province at 4 PM last Sunday, January 3, 2010.
Merycho Casas Ermac,19; Cristituto Cabrera Torres,23; and Junrey Cabrera Torres,27 members of the Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda Platun of the Local Terrorist Front-18 (LTF-18), Southern Mindanao Region surrendered to the 28th Infantry Battalion based in Lupon.
In 2009 southern Mindanao set a record high of 289 NPAs who surrendered to authorities while a total of 50 firearms were also yielded.
