Sen. Roxas say that if VAT on fuel is taken out,the consumers can save P6 on petroleum products

Senator Mar Roxas tells off President Arroyo in solving the hunger and poverty problems of the country. The senator suggests that this can be done by taking out the VAT on fuel and electricity. He says that if VAT on fuel is taken out, the consumers can save up on P6 when buying petroleum products.

Sen. Roxas quotes, ” If the VAT on fuel will be taken out, it doesn’t necessarily mean that all social programs implemented by the government will be affected. Only a miniscule part of the budget will be gone. The government must sacrifice through taking out the VAT on fuel, by using the collected taxes on the right programs, and by cost–cutting in the excessive expenditures of the government. The government must be a role model to the people, and not the other way around.
