SIGNATURE bombs of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Special Operations Group, says the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) over the bomb exploded near the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cotabato City.
The bomb which killed 5 and wounded 56 others in Cotabato last Sunday was the same 56 other bombs used in Central Mindanao areas were all traced to signature bombs created by the MILF SOG, says military public affairs office chief Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner Jr.
Over this, he said “the Armed Forces of the Philippines strongly condemns the series of bombings perpetrated by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the lawless Moro Islamic Liberation Front which are obviously terroristic attacks and diversionary tactics.
Brawner said that since January 1, 2009, a total of 56 Lawless MILF-SOG signature bombs exploded within Central Mindanao area; 28 of them planted in civilian areas, 23 targeted against the military and 5 targeted on vital installations.
The military also recovered 18 unexploded Lawless MILF-SOG signature bombs since then, Brawner said. (PIA)
