APEC 2015 logo reflects country’s vision of a more inclusive Asia-Pacific region

The 2015 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, which the Philippines will host, will focus on the need to make member economies part of economic growth, as reflected in the logo and theme launched by President Benigno S. Aquino III on Monday evening.

In his message during the launch, President Aquino said that as delegates arrive for the first APEC 2015 meeting next week in Albay, the government would ensure the success of the country’s hosting of the APEC.

The APEC 2015 will carry the theme, “Building Inclusive Economies, Building A Better World.”

The APEC 2015 logo reflects the vision espoused by the Philippines in treading the path to a more progressive and equitable Asia-Pacific by building inclusive economies for a better world.

The logo’s circular form represents a more connected, more integrated, and more dynamic global community, whose direction for growth is increasingly shaped by the APEC member economies.

These economies, both advanced and emerging, have in recent decades served as the APEC’s major drivers for shared development.

The logo design also shows the common waters that link the different member economies, forming a geographic bloc of inclusive prosperity and meaningful opportunity for more than 40 percent of the world’s population and the rest of the global community.

The logo’s blue, red and yellow triangles meanwhile represent the bloc’s 21 member economies. (PCOO/PIA)
