Army completes P76.9M peace and dev’t projects in Davao region

Camp Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City (12 January) — A total of 59 peace and development projects worth P76.9 million, were completed by soldiers of the Kalayaan sa Barangay Program (KBP) in Davao region.
In the Army region-wide yearend reports submitted to the Office of Civil Military Operations (CMO) of the 10th Infantry Division, said projects ranged from farm to market roads, to school buildings, rural electrification projects and level-2 water systems. These were completed as of December 31 last year.
Among the provinces that received these projects were Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte.
Maj. Gen. Carlos Holganza, 10ID Commander lauded the peace efforts of the soldiers and also expressed gratitiude to all who made the project successful.
“This is a proof of the sincerity of the government to bring much needed infrastructures for our people in the countryside,” Holganza added.
The KBP projects are infrastructures being implemented nationwide by the AFP thru funds coming from the Department of National Defense in line with the government’s peace and development initiative focused on national priority areas where the presence of threats to national development are strongly felt.
