Troops under 1002nd Infantry Brigade (1002nd Bde) encountered 20 members of Local Terrorists under Local Terrorist Front 76. The encounter happened at 10:30am, last Friday (September 5). The troops were then conducting community based activities in Barangay Malawanit, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.
The encounter was a result of the tip-off information from the residents who reported the presence of the said local terrorists in Sitio Blasan.
The troops have already coordinated with the local leaders and PNP Digos for the identification of the cadaver and for proper disposition. No casualties were reported on the troops. A hot pursuit operation is on-going. (10th Infantry (AGILA) Div., PA)
