Global warming has now become an environmental problem. It will have a very great impact on the health of the people, says the Department of Health.
Already there are some changes in the climatic conditions of the country and the world. In many places of the country, rain is still being experienced at a time when summer should have started.
Throughout the world, the prevalence of some diseases and other threats to human health depend largely on local climate. Extreme temperatures can directly lead to loss of life, while climate-related disturbances in ecological systems, such as changes in the range of infective parasites, can indirectly impact the incidence of serious infectious diseases. In addition, warm temperatures can increase air and water pollution, which in turn harm human health.
Children, the elderly, and the poor are considered to be the most vulnerable to adverse health outcomes. Everyone are called upon to help mitigate global warming and help inform the people about its causes and its adverse effects. (PIA)
