Hon. Jane Censoria Cajes, Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial President, gives the SK freedom to either join or not to join the prayer rally on July 29, 2008 that is in protest to the Reproductive Bill.
Cajes reminds the youth, to be careful and not be easily tempted as not to end up in complicated situations; and also for married couples in regards to wise family planning.
Bishop Leonardo Medroso of the Tagbilaran Diocese, asks people to join in the prayer rally on July 29, 2008. This prayer rally is to be in protest to the Reproductive Bill as it promotes the legalization of abortion.
As quoted by Bishop Medroso, “This bill is against the Church’s teachings and therefore should be reprimanded. If we believe in the Church, in God, we should follow his teachings. And that is to value life. We should not take for granted the sacredness of life.”
On a radio report of July 28, 2008, it was confirmed that police still search for the remaining garbage bags that contained the body parts of chop-chop victims: Eva Mae Peligro and Gwendolyn Balasta. The Boholano victims were from Sierra Bullones and not from Pilar as everyone believed.
The suspects were Richard Gudelosao, the brother of the boyfriend of Peligro; and Jojo De Los Reyes, Richard’s helper. They were under the influence of alcohol and marijuana prior to the murder. Both say that it was the other one who did the murder and he just helped. Suspects can’t tell where the remaining bags are since it was very dark when they threw it. Though both had no police record, the suspects were very well-known drunkards and drug addicts in Talisay.

July 26, 2008 was a big day for weavers, crafts artist and bands alike.
The Skills Demo started late in the morning showcasing the weaving and crafting skills of Central Visayas. At the Island City Mall Activity Center, different organizations presented their skills like Ceramic Making and Raffia-made Cellphone Straps Making of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers; Fashion Accessories Making of Imagination Creation; Raffia-made Pencil Case Making of Antequera; and Pandan-made Bags of Maribojoc.
While in the afternoon, the Band Showdown begun. It was participated by bands from different schools who played up their instruments and sung out their songs.
