It has been one of the concerns of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) members in availing claims and benefits — the issue in regards to the guidelines for medicine refund. The additional out-of-the-pocket expense for the purchase of medicines not available in hospital pharmacies or in excess amount billed to the member for the drugs and medicines administered during confinement.
PhilHealth further advises members and dependents that if they purchased medicines, they should attach the original Official Receipt of medicines to the Claim Form 1 for the processing of its refund.
PhilHealth also stressed that it shall not reimburse tampered receipts wherein a classic example is the manipulated/altered date of purchase of the medicine. (PhilHealth/PIA)

Malacañang welcomed the bid of Senator Benigno Aquino III for presidency in the May 2010 presidential elections.
Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said Aquino’s decision serves as a “motivation (for the Lakas-Kampi-CMD) to ensure it strategizes properly” in choosing its standard bearer.
Despite the alleged euphoria over Aquino’s bid for the presidency, Ermita said he still foresees a victory by the administration candidate based on qualifications and capabilities, and with the full support of the party’s mechanism.
Ermita admitted Aquino possesses the qualifications of a presidential candidate but that his being popular now is more of an offshoot of the death of former President Corazon Aquino, the acknowledged democracy icon in the country. (PIA)
