nga dili moagi sa ilang pagsusi samtang gitun-an pa ang balaod, sa pakipag-tambayayong sa
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), kalabot sa pagkontrol sa pagbaligya sa maong
produkto.
Niingon si Lazo nga posibleng mopagawas sila og bag-ong advisory inig human na sa ilang
gihimong pakisusi.
Nauna nang niingon si Senate Majority leader Vicente Sotto III nga apil ang poppy seeds sa
mga gidili nga droga tungod kay mao kini ang hinungdan sa adiksyon.

component.

SECRETARY Enrique T. Ona denied reports there are ”ghost” employees and projects at
the Department of Health (DoH) and has created a committee to determine the actual human
resources requirements of the health agency.
In a statement, Ona said the DoH does not have ”host employees, ghost projects, and
intelligence or discretionary funds to convert.”
Ona was reacting to reports that said the DoH and the Department of Education were among
government agencies that practice fund conversion on its personnel services budget.
Ona said the budget allotment of the DoH for the fiscal year of 2011 is as follows: P7.7 billion
for Personnel Services (PS), P15.1 billion for maintenance and other operating expenses
(MOOE), and P8.9 billion for capital outlay (CO), totaling P31.7 billion.
The DoH has about 35,000 employees nationwide for Fiscal Year 2011, he said. He also
disclosed the DoH budget for 2010 that amounted to P6.87 billion pesos for PS, P11.32
billion for MOOE, and P6.46 billion for CO.
Ona assured Filipino tax-payers and international donor agencies supporting the DoH
that ”every single peso allotted to and every foreign currency donated to the Health
Department properly goes to where it was originally intended, and then properly liquidated
and accounted.”
The health chief has assigned an ad hoc committee to study the actual number of health
professionals and health-related personnel required by government health facilities
nationwide. The ad hoc committee report will also serve as guide in crafting the 2012 to 2015

The Department of Health’s (DOH) National Epidemiology Center is now bracing for the possible outbreak of wet-season diseases during what is supposed to be the country’s summer season.
NEC director Dr. Eric Tayag said dengue fever, diarrhea, leptospirosis, and pulmonary diseases are on their watch list.
Tayag gave general tips on how to avoid wet season diseases like – boiling water before drinking, or using DOH-prescribed disinfectants; to take vitamins C and D; and to make sure there are no places with stagnant water where dengue mosquitoes can breed.
Tayag said that they will begin their anti-dengue campaign earlier than usual this year.
The DOH also advised against wading in floodwaters, which can cause injuries and may carry rat urine that could cause leptospirosis.
Aside from wet-season diseases, the government is also watching for measles.
“To prevent further cases of measles within the first part of the year, the DOH will embark on a nationwide mass vaccination of children up to less than 8 years of age,” Tayag said. (PIA)

Matud pa ni DOH National Epidemiology Center Chief Dr. Eric Tayag, kadaghanan sa mga
kaso nga natala gikan sa Metro Manila, apan gisuta nila karon ang posibleng outbreak sa
leptospirosis sa Pangasinan diin aduna nay gikataho nga 24 ka kaso ug duha na niini ang
namatay.
Pipila sa mga sintomas sa maong sakit mao ang hilanat, pag yellow sa pamanit ug pag kolor
tsaa sa ihi.
Dili usab angay nga pasagdan ang mga bata nga magdula sa baha tungod kay dinhi nila
