TAGBILARAN CITY, June 14 (PIA)–The Land Transport Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) regional office has warned drivers and operators of public utilities plying their trade here to give discounts to students primarily during school days.
LTFRB Assistant Regional Director Reynaldo Elnar in a radio interview here said that drivers of public utility vehicles (PUV) should grant the 20% student discount to all pre-school, elementary, secondary, vocational and technical students enrolled in duly recognized by the government.
Excluded from the 20% discount are those of dancing and driving schools, short term courses of seminar type, and post-graduate studies (medicine, law, masteral and doctoral degrees and other similar post graduate studies).
According to LTFRB Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2011-004 the 20% student discount shall be effective only during school days.
The PUV operator shall not deprive passengers granted fare privileges and discounted fares with appropriate seats.
Students should present their valid school IDs to the PUV driver especially those enrolled in Saturday and Sunday classes.
Those who fail to grant the 20% discount will face a P2,000 penalty for the first offense.
Repeat offenders will have their unit impounded for 60 days and the operator will be fined P3,000.
Those who violate for the third time will be slapped a P5,000 fine, and have their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) cancelled. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)

TAGBILARAN CITY, June 13 (PIA)–Amidst pouring rains, Governor Edgar Chatto rallied Boholanos to continue making independence day relevant by continuing the struggle against poverty and inequality even as he translated the rains as a sign of nurturing the seeds to feed the country.
Speaking at the gathering of Boholanos in time for the 118th Independence Day Commemoration, Sunday June 12, at the Plaza Rizal, Chatto reminded everyone that the freedom which the country earned after the Spanish and American occupations is never completed.
“Freedom is not what we get after June 12, 1898,” Chatto stressed as rains pounded on the makeshift tents installed at the Plaza Rizal in Tagbilaran, from where the commemorative program was held.
“Every year, we remember the past and live with the challenges of poverty and inequality in wealth, opportunities, injustice and criminality” the governor who led the commemorative program after a wreath laying and Flag raising ceremonies said.
Urging for citizens participation in the task of guarding the freedom and realizing the dream of true independence, Chatto called people to make the call once they see service inefficiency.
“In fear, we are not free,” he stressed as he tried pitching for more participation in calling against being shortchanged in government.
Not calling against “inefficiency of services is corruption,” he stressed.
The governor, who has been largely engaging everyone to help in economically moving up and be a strong province, knew that Bohol used to frequent the bottom poorest provinces in the country.
Now with the tourism, trade and industry as well as combined effects of information technology and agriculture, Chatto again urged everyone to help analyze where the economic growth is going.
This, he said, “assures that more inclusive growth can be attained.”
Even then, he also engaged everyone to be reminded of their roles in the transformation of the nation.
According to the governor, “the bottom line is not just collective independence but collective partaking of our responsibilities.”
Amidst the pounding rain which kept independence day event attendees scurry under tents and shades to escape from the drenching rain, Chatto also thanked the President Aquino who is soon bowing out of service.
He cited the Administration’s help in the reconstruction and helping Bohol rise up from the calamities.
Everything we attained would be continued by the Boholanos, Chatto assured.
With a new Administration however, he called for support and prayers for the new leadership.

TAGBILARAN CITY, June 13 (PIA)–Subling gipahinumdoman sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang mga pribadong sektor sa saktong pagbayad sa ilang mga empleyado nga nisulod kagahapon dungan sa pagsaulog sa ika-118 ka tuig nga anibersaryo sa Adlaw sa Kaugalingnan o Independence Day.
Base sa pay rules sa DOLE, ang bisan kinsang empleyado nga misulod sulod sa walo ka oras makakuha og dugang 200 porsiyento sa iyang suholan.
Kun molapas sa walo ka oras ang trabaho, dugang 30 porsiyento sa hourly rate ang angay nga ibayad sa usa ka empleyado.
Apan kun wala nisulod ang usa ka empleyado, bayaran pa gihapon kini og 100 porsiyento sa iyang suholan sa maong adlaw.
Samtang ang misulod nga empleyado sa adlaw sa Hunyo 12, nga natunong sa iyang day-off, bayaran og dugang 30 porsiyento sa iyang daily rate nga 200 percent.

The Department of Trade and Industry is set to launch the third of the seven Negosyo Center Plus at the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Campus in Cebu City on June 9, 2016.
The Negosyo Center Plus is a Negosyo Center with Fabrication Laboratory and Co-Working space. It is the second to the Bohol Fablab and first with the Negosyo Center Fablab Co-working Space tag in the Visayas.
DTI Supervising Undersecretary for Regional Operations Group (DTI-ROG) Zenaida Maglaya said that the Negosyo Center with Fablab Co-working Space launching is a milestone for the Department after unveiling the first two in Santiago City and Ilocos Sur. The DTI is also set to open four more Negosyo Center with Fablab Co-working Spaces in Tacloban City (Eastern Visayas State University) on June 21, Bicol (Bicol University Compound) on June 23, National Capital Region (CITC Marikina; University of the Philippines – Diliman) on September 14, and in Zamboanga City (Zamboanga State Ploytechnic College) on October 7.
“The Negosyo Center Plus is a huge lift to our micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). These Negosyo Center with Fablabs and Co-Working Spaces are strategically located for innovation and creativity in the industry, particularly for use by students, start-ups and micro and small enterprises,” Maglaya said.
The Negosyo Center Plus UP Cebu is the first DTI-supported FabLab in Cebu. The DTI funded six (6) equipment worth Php 5.375 million under its Shared Service Facility (SSF) program to provide technical assistance and capacity building for the FabLab’s management and operations.
The Negosyo Center Plus UP Cebu provides a creative space for designers, creatives, entrepreneurs, students and the general public to test out their ideas and turn them into products using digital fabrication equipment. Available equipment at the Negosyo Center Plus UP Cebu are 3D Printer, Laser Cutter, Printer and Cutter, Desktop Vinyl Cutter, CNC Router and Benchtop Milling Machine.
“The Negosyo Center Plus is the window for MSMEs, students, entrepreneurs and creative individuals to avail of new prototyping technologies and software in designing and manufacturing products to match the market competition,” Maglaya added.
The DTI launched the country’s first FabLab Shared Service Facility (SSF) in Bohol in 2014. The Bohol Fablab, located at the Bohol Island State University, has helped the entrepreneurs in the island to produce travel retail products in short runs, prototype furniture and even a working “printed” house as part of the post-earthquake recovery program of the province . The Bohol Fablab is funded by the DTI, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Bohol Island State University (BISU), and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The Negosyo Center is a salient feature of Republic Act No. 10644, otherwise known as “Go Negosyo Act,” which seeks to strengthen MSMEs to create more job opportunities in the country. On the other hand, a Co-working Space (CWS) is an open space that the public can rent for a very flexible period using common area office fixtures, internet, and other common office services, while the FabLab offers the digital fabrication equipment where people can build, design and engineer ideas into products.

Matud pa sa DepEd nga matag panahon sa enrollment, kanunay silang makadawat og reklamo kalabot sa pagpangolekta og mga bayronon nga dugang nagpalisod sa mga ginikanan.
Ubos sa DepEd Order Number 41 series of 2012, bawal mangolekta sa mga estudyante sa kindergarten hangtud grade 5 sa tibuok school year.
Samtang sa Hunyo taman Hulyo epektibo ang ‘No Collection Policy’ alang sa grade 5 ngadto sa grade 10 o fourth year high school students.
Giingong mahimo lamang mangolekta ang mga tunghaan sa Agosto apan angay nga boluntaryo kini ug dili compulsory.
Apil sa mga bayronon na awtorisado sa DepEd ang membership fee alang sa Boy Scouts ug Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Anti-Tuberculosis Fund Drive, Parents-Teachers Association, school publication fee ug Parents-Teachers Association fee.
Ang ‘No Collection Policy’ usa ka anti-poverty measures sa DepEd nga tuyong aghaton ang mga ginikanan nga patunghaon sa eskwelahan ang ilang mga anak.
