Giingong ipatuman ang libreng tuition sa mga state universities and colleges (SUCs) sa tibuok nasod sa school year 2017.

TAGBILARAN CITY, December 15 (PIA)–The BangkoSentralngPilipinas (BSP) reminded the information officers of the local government units and national government agencies about the December 31, 2016 deadline to swap holdings of New Design Series (NDS) paper bills.
During the general assembly meeting of the Association of United Development Information Officers in Bohol (AUDIO-Bohol) recently hosted by BSP, Bank Officer Hazel Cultura said the old NDS banknotes launched in 1985 will fully lose monetary value starting Jan. 1, 2017.
Cultura added that under Section 57 of Republic Act (RA) No. 7653 or the New Central Bank Act, the BSP may replace notes of any series that are more than five years old and coins that are more than 10 years old.
The BSP defines demonetization as “the process of removing the monetary value of a legal tender currency by the issuing authority.”
However, Cultura clarified that only paper bills are included in the latest demonetization.
She said holders of NDS can still exchange NDS paper bills at face value in banks, the Cash Department of the BSP and the various BSP offices nationwide.
For NDS notes that are subject of court cases, it can be exchanged within six months after the corresponding legal cases have been terminated.
Clerks of Courts and law enforcement agencies were given an extension to swap their NDS from end of December 2016 to January 31, 2017.
Meanwhile, for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), they are also allowed to swap their NDS holdings outside of the period given to the public.
OFWs are required to register their NDS holdings with the central bank through online application at https://orbs.bsp.gov.ph that started last October 1. The NDS holdings can be swapped within a year after the registration.
OFWs are allowed to swap up to P50,000 worth of NDS holdings in line with the 11th foreign exchange liberalization of the central bank.
“For those who are situated in war torn countries, the deadline for exchange is extended to 31 December 2017. There is no need for them to register,” Cultura said. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)

To give due recognition to the best performing Shared Service Facilities (SSF) nationwide, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprises (BSMED), organized the 2016 Best SSF Project of the Year.
The 2016 Best SSF Project of the Year was awarded to Dangdang-ay di Ibila Cooperative from Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) for excellently managing a coffee processing facility and was also awarded as the Best SSF Project for Northern Luzon.
Other awards for Best SSF Project for Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao were went to Putsan Ceramics Manufacturers (Philippine Ceramics Arts and Crafts Center (PHILCERAMICS) Facilities Augmentation), Sto. Niño de Plaridel Parish Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Pandan and Bariw Bag Making Shared Service Facility Project), and to San Isidro Upland Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SSF on Fiber Marketing Expansion), respectively.
The SSF Awards aims to recognize the efforts of SSF project partners and SSF cooperators for taking on the responsibilities of managing the SSF projects, utilizing their manpower and resources, nurturing the beneficiaries, and empowering the people in their communities.
On the other hand, DTI Region 3 bagged the first place as the Best Regional Audio Visual Presentation (AVP) while DTI Region VII placed second followed by DTI Region XI at third place.
The SSF Project is one of the DTI’s strategies to achieve inclusive growth and jobs generation. Specifically, it is aimed at increasing the productivity and improving the competitiveness of the MSMEs by providing them with machinery, equipment, tools, systems, accessories and other auxiliary items under a shared system.
Since its inception, the SSF project has already provided PHP1.081 billion worth of machinery and equipment for 2,099 established projects, provided 52,820 jobs and assisted 91,116 MSME beneficiaries nationwide.

“Kailangang bayaran ng lahat ng employer ang mga rank-and-file employee ng kanilang 13th month pay, anuman ang uri ng kanilang empleo at pamamaraan ng pagbabayad ng kanilang sahod, basta sila ay nakapagtrabaho ng hindi bababa sa isang buwan ng kasalukuyang taon,” matud pa ni Bello.
Matud pa sa Kalihim nga ang pagbayad sa 13th month pay agi og pagsunod sa Labor Code of the Philippines ug mga patakaran ug regulasyon sa pagpatuman niini.
Ubos sa Labor Code, ang tanang nasakop nga employer angay mosumiter og taho sa pagpatuman sa balaod sa pinakaduol nga DOLE regional office nga dili molapas sa Enero 15 matag tuig.
Ang 13th month pay kapareho sa 1/12 sa basic salary sa mga empleyado sa usa ka tuig.
Kauban sa basic salary ang tanang bayad o kita nga gibayad sa employer sa empleyado alang sa serbisyong gihatag, apan mahimong dili apil ang cost-of-living allowances (COLA), profit-sharing payments, cash equivalents sa wala nagamit nga vacation ug sick leave credits, overtime pay, premium pay, night shift differential pay, holiday pay, ug tanang allowance ug monetary benefits nga gikonsiderar nga dili na parte o kauban sa regular o basic salary sa empleyado.
