Coral Triangle Summit focuses on global warming urgency

The Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) leaders’ summit in Indonesia last week, focused on the heightened attention on the urgency to preserve the environment and the Coral Triangle against the onslaught of global warming. The CTI-member countries are the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Timor Leste, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo described the Coral Triangle as “potentially the world’s most important ‘refuge’ for marine life – but only if we do our part to keep it in good health.” (PIA)
