CIVIL Service Commission (CSC) through Chairman Ricardo Saludo has issued memorandum circular ordering all government workers to pray for the eternal repose of the soul of the former President during flag raising ceremonies on all Mondays of August.
Saludo also ordered workers to prominently display yellow and black ribbons or banners in government facilities as a sign that the CSC joins Aquino and Cojuangco families in deepest sorrow and solemn prayer over the passing of former President Corazon Aquino.
In related development, convenors of mass action for Cory Aquino bared that Boholano supporters of Cory Aquino would gather tonight from 6 to 8 PM at the Plaza Rizal for a prayer vigil for the eternal rest of the soul of the former president.
The vigil activities include a mass and prayer for the president as a way of acknowledging the country’s indebtedness to the person who restored democracy in the country.
Interested persons are also invited to wear yellow shirts or black shirts with yellow ribbons for the gathering at the plaza tonight. (PIA)
