Dell has now expanded its Vostro series of computing devices, announced during a live webcast in Beijing, China. The latest in the series is the Vostro A840 and A860, which are designed for home and business users who are looking for a cost effective mobile solution.
The specifications for the A840 and A860 almost share the same specifications. They are:
Choice of Intel Celeron up to Core 2 Duo,
up to 1GB of RAM,
a built-in integrated network modem
WiFi
optional Bluetooth
DVD/CD combo drive (or DVD-RW with write capability)
integrated PC Card slot
either Ubuntu Linux or Microsoft Genuine Windows Vista operating systems
They only differ in the following:
for the A840
14.1-inch WXGA LCD screen with anti-glare coating
120GB HDD
Weighs at 2.3 kilograms
for the A860
15.6-inch HD LCD display with anti-glare coating
160GB HDD
weighs at 2.6 kilograms
The laptops are available already here in the Philippines since August 26. And it will cost from Php30,000 to 36,000 and up.
