On April 24, 6:00 o’clock in the evening, the Department of Health (DOH) will conduct a nationwide simultaneous lighting of Green Star of Life lantern. This is in line with the observance of the World Health Day.
The Green Star of Life Lanterns will be lighted every night up to December 31, 2009. It will be displayed in a conspicuous area in front of DOH retained Metro Manila and regional hospitals and medical centers.
The Green Star of Life serves as an identity that symbolizes structural, non structural, and functional resilience in the perspective of healing, regeneration, life and growth in the hospital care facilities.
With the theme: “Safe Hospitals: Protect Health Facilities in Emergencies”, World Health Day 2009 focuses on the resilience and safety of health facilities and the readiness of health workers who treat those affected by emergencies. (PIA)
