Gov. Chatto and DTI-7 Director Caberte Open Sandugo Trade Fair

Gov. Edgar Chatto with Mayor Pureza Veloso-Chatto, DTI-7 RD Aster Caberte and OIC PD Maria Soledad Balistoy lead ribbon cutting rites at the Sandugo Trade Expo 2016 on July 20, 2016 at the Island City Mall in Tagbilaran City. They are joined by BCCI President Albert Uy, BAHRR President Rommel Gonzales, and City Councilor Jojo Bompat who represented Mayor Baba Yap.

DTI Central Visayas Regional Director Aster Caberte said the regional expo grew from 99 exhibitors last year to 123 this year, the increase she attributes to upbeat economy of Bohol which is attracting buyers and exhibitors. The regional trade fair features products from regions in Visayas and Mindanao. It is also seen to boost performance of local micro small and medium enterprises – a growing investment in Bohol.

The regional trade fair is among noteworthy accomplishments of DTI which commits to faster, higher, and stronger service in the economic growth and development sector.

Among reported accomplishments of DTI are:
– streamlining of business regulatuons requirements reporting 132 LGUs in region 7 that are using the Business Permits and Licensing System
– partnership with LGUs in the establishment of Negosyo Centers for business registration, business information, and training; 16 Negosyo Centers have been established in Region 7, an additonal 12 programmed including Tagbilaran City in September
– increased productivity and efficiency through establishment of Shared Service Facilities for product development; 94 SSFs have been established in Central Visayas
– technological startups
– 25 completed Bottom Up Budgeting projects; 17 ongoing
– micro financing through soft loans for disaster affected areas
– 358 Timbangan ng Bayan in Central Visayas
– standards certification through Bagwis
