The Arroyo government has cited more assistance for food and transportation for the poorest. One of such is the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, which provides social assistance and development to the poor.
The government assistance includes the P10-billion cash transfer program targeted to benefit at least 320,000 poor households and one million poor children in 20 poorest provinces. (chedecastro/aca/PIA)
