GRP flies to KL in relation to peace talks with the MILF

The “Government Peace Panel will fly to Malaysia this week to talk about the peace talks between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

This is according to President Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo’s decree.

According to Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Rafael Seguis, the head of the GRP with the Malaysian facilitators will tackle ways in order to restore peace in Mindanao.

President Arroyo says that the peace will be restored once peace talks will resume again. She also adds that the government will not continue with the peace talks if the other group will continue to hold firearms, and that the new policy on the peace process is focused on dialogues with communities.

Together with Seguis in Malaysia, are Secretary Agrario Nasser Pangandaman; Mayor of General Santos Adelbert Antonino; Congressman Ronald Adamat; and Tomas Cabili Jr., a lawyer in Iligan City . (PIA/Bohol)
