Japan scholarship opens

The Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) opens for government employees until October 15, 2009. It aims to provide qualified Filipinos an opportunity to obtain a masteral degree (2 year-course) in Japanese Universities in support of the human resource development policies of the country.

The aforementioned scholarship is a bilateral project of the Government of the Philippines with assistance from the Government of Japan.

For Japanese Fiscal Year 2010-2011, twenty young government employees are expected to play leadership roles in the fields of Public Administration, Economics, Business Administration, Information and Communication Technology and Industrial Development.

Qualified for the scholarship are Filipino citizen, below 40 years old as of April 1, 2010; a government employee on a permanent status; have 2 years work experience in the public sector at the time of application; and have a performance rating of at least “very satisfactory” at the time of application.

Also, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree relevant to the target field except for the ICT field, where applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in ICT or its equivalent and not have been awarded a foreign scholarship for Master’s degree.

Submissions are to be passed not later than 4:30 P.M. on October 15, 2009 to: JICE JDS Project Office in the Philippines located at Unit 2-F1, Island Plaza Salcedo, 105 L.P. Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City, Philippines. (PIA)
