BOHOL: New Philippine LGU Integrity Destination

Bohol is new Local Government Integrity Circle (LoGIC) destination after Gov. Edgar Chatto and Local Government Integrity Circles (LoGIC) Project country representative Stefan Maria Jost led signing of memorandum of understanding for the LoGIC project in Bohol on Wednesday. The project enlists multi sectoral participation to ensure government efficiency and good governance and to facilitate ease of doing business and local competitiveness through strategies and mechanisms that promote integrity. The governor expressed excitement for the partnership as Bohol governance has been a practice of shared leadership, from which various successes in governance have stemmed from, most recently becoming Most Business Friendly Province in the country, a distinct example of values that the LoGIC program upholds. The project aims to be able to create these integrity circles in 300 LGUs nationwide. Bohol is their 5th LoGIC Network destination following Negros Occidental, North Cotabato, Palawan, and Surigao Del Norte. Jost congratulated Bohol on governance and leadership of Chatto guided by vision and sustainability as has been evident in forums with government, the private sector and civil society. SHELTER ASSISTANCE IN TUBIGON – Gov. Edgar Chatto leads the Ceremonial Blessing and Turnover of 357 units of the Modified Core Shelter Assistance Project in Tubigon. The housing project was a joint effort of the DSWD, HABITAT for Humanity, the Provincial Government of Bohol and in cooperation with LGU-Tubigon. AirAsia is Geeks on a Beach official airline partner

Bohol to ramp up investments with “one voice for one destination”

    USAID facilitates tripartite partnership in investment promotion in Bohol and Tagbilaran City     Tagbilaran City – The Bohol Provincial Government, the Tagbilaran City Government, and the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) entered into a tripartite partnership to formalize their commitment to pursuing inclusive growth. Recognizing the need for a solid “one voice for one destination” vision in promoting investments, the partnership is anchored on a unified and enhanced investment promotions program for Bohol and Tagbilaran City.   “The government must work with the business sector, civil society, and other stakeholders to achieve sustainable development,” said Bohol Governor Edgardo Chatto.   “The private sector is an important driver of growth,” he added. “As the province prepares for the influx of more tourists and businesses with the opening of the new international airport in Panglao in 2018 and the completion of infrastructure projects in Tagbilaran City, the more we need to synchronize our efforts to reach our potential as an economic growth hub in the region.”   The partnership was the result of a series of workshops on investment promotion organized by the U.S. Embassy Manila’s U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), through its Strengthening Urban Resilience for Growth with Equity (SURGE) Project, in Tagbilaran City.
