Palace sets dialogue with National Artist stakeholders

Malacañang is setting a dialogue with stakeholders of the National Artist awardees to ease tensions among the art sectors.

Deputy Presidential Spokeswoman Lorelei Fajardo said the National Commission on Culture and the Arts was expected to take charge of the talks, but NCCA executive director Cecille Guidote Alvarez would not be part of it.

Alvarez, recently awarded the National Artist Award, is one of those being questioned by other National Artists. Because the honor is administered by the NCCA and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), her eligibility is doubted. (PNA)
