PCSO suggests raising bail for “illegal lotto” suspects

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) authorities, including PCSO VisMin Department Manager William Medici, agrees that illegal numbers game has dented on their operations.

The PCSO is a government mandated office to deliver charity assistance to poor patients run the traditional sweepstakes draws and daily lottos. Its proceeds go to the common fund for the agency’s medical assistance and medical mission programs.

Their draws however provide a venue for illegal numbers game operators, robbing the government of revenues it can use for its service programs. These illegal lotto operators ride on their draws to perpetuate an illegal small town lotto operation. (PIA)
