President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is hopeful that the stalled peace negotiations with the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) will resume soon.
“We continue to engage stakeholders in the communities through dialogues and collaborative endeavors to ensure that our peace agenda is reflective of the sentiments, aspirations and values of our people,” Arroyo added.
The resumption of the peace talks stalled after the CPP-NPA-NDF demanded the withdrawal of criminal charges against the rebels’ negotiators and consultants. (PIA)
