“Pratice the ‘bayanihan’ Filipino tradition.” This is according to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Arroyo further adds, “Bayanihan has already been a trademark of Filipino people especially in times of crisis and disasters.”
President Arroyo has been personally attending and supervising the relief and rescue operations being conducted by the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) at the height of the devastation and aftermath of typhoon Ondoy.
Earlier, the President has ordered Cabinet officials to mobilize their departments and offices to help in the rescue and relief operations in areas affected by said typhoon. She also ordered a wider relief operations through the Oplan Sagip Bayan.
On the other hand, Palace has appealed to its critics to stop fingerpointing but instead help typhoon Ondoy victims. (PIA)
