PGMA remains against the death penalty

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s stand against the death penalty remains firm in order to refrain from crimes such as the pushing of illegal drugs.

According to Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, even if her title is “drug czar”, the President remains in her policy against the death penalty.

President Arroyo, who is a firm Catholic, signed the law that removes the death penalty since 2006. This happened right after her visit to Pope Benedict XVII, Ermita adds.

Just recently did President Arroyo started her “all out war” against illegal drugs. (PIA/BOHOL)
