TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 28 (PIA)–Gidawat sa Pilipinas ang New Frontiers Award 2013 gikan sa Arabian Travel Market (ATM) nga gi-ilang premier travel ug tourism exhibition sa Middle East.
Gi-ila sa maong award giving body ang padayon nga pagbangon sa nasud sa pag-igo sa Bagyong Pablo (international name: Bopha) niadtong Disyembre 2012.
“The Philippines, its government and its people, has shown remarkable fortitude and a stoic determination to get both communities and the local economy back on track following the devastation wreaked by Typhoon Bopha late last year, and their resilience in the face of such a monumental crisis is commendable,” matud pa ni Mark Walsh, Portfolio Director sa Reed Travel Exhibitions sa iyang pagtunol sa kristal nga tropeo.
Ang maong award ginahatag sa mga destinasyong nagpakita og “great adversity to rebound its tourism industries. The award also gives tribute to the resilience of local communities to rebuild their lives, as well as bring attention to the crisis management and risk reduction practices of local authorities.”
Kauban sa Pilipinas sa shortlist ang New York State tungod sa Hurricane Sandy ug Pakistan tungod sa grabeng baha nga nasinati nila niadtong 2012.
Nanguna sa delegasyon sa nasud si Department of Tourism (DOT) Assistant Secretary Benito C. Bengzon, Jr. sa pagdawat sa maong award.
