PhilHealth issues guidelines for medicine refund

It has been one of the concerns of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) members in availing claims and benefits — the issue in regards to the guidelines for medicine refund. The additional out-of-the-pocket expense for the purchase of medicines not available in hospital pharmacies or in excess amount billed to the member for the drugs and medicines administered during confinement.

PhilHealth further advises members and dependents that if they purchased medicines, they should attach the original Official Receipt of medicines to the Claim Form 1 for the processing of its refund.

PhilHealth also stressed that it shall not reimburse tampered receipts wherein a classic example is the manipulated/altered date of purchase of the medicine. (PhilHealth/PIA)
