Amidst the global economic meltdown and Filipinos loosing their jobs, the government is providing job opportunities. One of these is the hiring of news cops by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Director General Jesus Verzosa announced that their agency is in need of more than 7,000 new police officers nationwide and has already ordered for the recruitment of new cops.
The program aims to augment the required number of 3,000 new PO1s for 2009 and replace the more than 4,000 uniformed personnel who were attributed for reasons of retirement, death, dismissal and resignation for the first semester of 2009 and second semester of 2008. (PIA)
