The Philippine National Police (PNP) assures the public thatthe police authorities are very much prepared to secure President Gloria Macapagal–Arroyo’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27.
Aside from the deployment of policemen at the Batasang Pambansa, the PNP has also enough personnel to secure vital installations such as government offices, oil depots, the MRT and LRT from possible bomb attacks.
As part of the PNP’s Public Security Safety Plan, a Task Force Kapayapaan was created and is headed by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Supt. Roberto Rosales. The task force will provide enhanced security measures, civil disturbance management, traffic management and control as well as other related administrative and operational activities to ensure order and security for the President’s address.
