The Department of Budget and Management is now working for an early release of 13th month pay to help workers cope with the disaster brought by storm Ondoy.
Vice President Noli de Castro first recommended the early release of fiscal aid from both government and the private sector in a meeting with the National Disaster Coordinating Council.
Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya affirmed that his department has prepared the memorandum circular for the release of the early bonus, which may happen anytime soon.
13th month pay is released in two tranches, one half last June and the other half supposedly this December. (PIA)
