City Health Officer refuses to comment on the Tagbilaran seawater’s safety
City Health Officer Dr. Antonio Porticos declines to comment regarding the issues surrounding the outfall drainage. Issues like the water quality of the Tagbilaran seawaters, the bad smell coming out of the drainage , and the loss of livelihood of vendors in Caingit.
Porticos adds that he can’t comment due to orders from above stating that the issue will be taken up by City Sangguniang Panglungsod Chair Kagawad Edi Borja. Media asks him if the City Government has plans to answer the issue on the outfall drainage. Porticos, who is usually media-friendly, refuses to comment any further.
However, the public is dismayed on the City Government’s ways to evade the outfall drainage issues in the midst of debates regarding public health and the financial transactions of City officials.
