Opisyal mihagit sa mga molansaray Pagpa-una sa rabies sa ilang agenda

GIHAGIT sa usa ka opisyal sa barangay ang tanang molansaray sa umaabot nga Oktubre 25 sa
pagpaseguro sa ilang agenda sa pagpa-ugmad ang pagpatunhay sa nasugdang kampanya batok sa
rabies.

Matud ni Barangay Captain Cristobal Rasonabe sa Haguilanan Catigbian, ang hisgutanan sa serbisyo
publiko nagtungtong usab sa paghatag sa kasagurohan sa public health.

Ang Barangay Haguilanan sa lungsod sa Catigbian maoy usa sa tulo ka barangay sa Bohol nga
ibangga alang sa labing maayong sumbanan sa nasudnong pagpatuman sa kampanya batok sa
rabies o kagaw sa iro, butyag ni Dr. Stella Marie Lapiz sa Kapihan sa PIA niadtong milabayng
Huwebes.

Nakadayeg ang mga tinugyanan sa Bohol sa mga kalidad sa pagkapangulo ni Rasonabe tungod sa
lig-on niining pagpasunod sa balaod sa pagpugong sa rabies.

Miangkon usab si Rasonabe nga dili lalim ang ilang nasinati nga pagsupak sa katawhan niadtong
ilang gisugdan ang kampanya sa pagpangga sa ilang mga binuhi ug sa pag-atiman niini aron dili
matakbuyan sa rabies.

Gov’s award for best program Against rabies dangles P200K

THE program that truly bites at the threat of rabies moves on as the Govenor’s Award for best performing anti-rabies councils is dangled as a bait.

P200 thousand is at stake for the 10 best performing councils, revealed Dr. Stella Marie Lapiz, adding that the inter-agency and multisectoral Screening Commitee begins a series of conferences to finalize the awards.

This Friday, the committee meets at the office of the Provincial Veterinarian to deliberate on the mechanics as well as initially evaluate the municipal and barangay council nominees.

Considered as one of the world’s most successful rabies prevention and eradication program so far, the Bohol program leans on the effective mobilization of communities as major stakeholders in the program.

Gov. Edgar Chatto, through the provincial government of Bohol has earmarked counterpart funds to allow the barangay based councils to register and vaccinate registered dogs in a bid to thoroughly account for the dog population and potentailly arrest rabies. (PIA-Bohol)

Guv names March-April dog registration months

GOVERNOR Erico Aumentado signed an executive order naming March and April as dog registration and vaccination months in Bohol as a renewed strategy to fight and eradicate rabies in the province.

Citing Republic Act 9482 and Provincial Ordinance 2007-012, the governor said it is but necessary to formulate internal rules to strengthen the implementation of the Bohol Rabies Prevention and Eradication Program (BPREP).

The ordinance penalizes pet owners for non-registration and vaccination of dogs, their refusal to have his biting dog put under observation and his refusal to help victims with their concurred treatment expenses.

Rabies is a kind of viral infection caused by Lyssavirus and could be contracted by bites from rabid animals, or the virus entering lesions. When bitten, a person has to immediately wash the wound in soap and water within 10 minutes from biting, apply alcohol or disinfectants directly to the wound. And lastly, rush the victim to the nearest rural health unit to obtain referrals before going to the nearest animal bite center. (rachiu/PIA)
