The P330-B “Economic Stimulus Package” to be implemented ASAP – PGMA

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo decrees that the Economic Stimulus Package, which is worth P330-B, should be implemented as soon as possible. This is so, to minimize the effects of the global crisis
Based on the said package, the government will be creating 1.3 million jobs, sending of 1,000 nurses to the poorest towns, and green collar workers.

The plan of adding new jobs and livelihood, is the result of the agreement between DOLE and 137 representatives from the sectors of trade, Church, businesses, schools, government officials and NGOs.

Based on the “green collar” project; the displaced workers will work in projects that are natural to them. Such as, planting of trees and jatropha, guarding and cleaning of coasts, and others.

The government encourages the local government units to donate P2,000 from the P10,000 salary for the hiring of nurses who will work and head the primary health program in the towns.

Included also in the “stimulus package” is the Livelihood program of Land Bank, DPB, and other government agencies (aee/PIA-Bohol)
