Tourism continues to soar in RP despite H1N1 cases

Tourism continues to soar in the country despite the spate of Influenza A(H1N1) cases.

The WHO stated the Philippines’ tourism industry remains proactive even as tropical regions in Southeast Asia and the South such as Thailand, Indonesia, India, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Myanmar and the Philippines continue to experience geographically regional or widespread H1N1 cases.

The WHO recommended no travel restrictions to the country and lauded the nation’s response preparedness against the Influenza A(H1N1)Virus.

It is important for travelers and the entire public to know the necessary precautions against getting the Influenza A(H1N1) such as regular hand washing, strict personal hygiene and etiquette. Travelers are advised to seek prompt medical attention in case of influenza-like illness symptoms such as fever, running nose and cough before, during or after the trip. (PIA/FCR)
