Gibutyag usab ni Valte nga gitaho sa Anti Money Laundering Council (AMLC) nga gihatagan og pagtagad sa FATF ang mga lakang sa gobyerno sa Pilipinas aron iduso ang transparency ug accountability sa mga pampinansyal nga transaksyon.
Giingong misuwat si Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr., nga mao usab ang tinugyanan sa AMLC, kang Presidente Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III nga gi-ila sa FATF ang mga repormang gilusad sa gobyerno sa Pilipinas.

Expiry dates sa mga gift certificates, gitangtang na sa DTI
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, June 25 (PIA)–Sugod sa Hulyo 1, wala nay expiry dates ang mga gift check, gift cards o gift certificates (GC).
Matud pa ni Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya, agi kini og pagsunod sa DTI Administrative Order No. 10-40, nga gilagdaan niadtong Hunyo 25, 2010, diin nakalatid nga epektibo Hulyo 1, 2012, tanan nga i-isyung mga GC wala nay expiry date.
“Kapag ang gift check na hawak-hawak n’yo ngayon ay expiring before July 1, gamitin nyo na po. Ngayon, kung ang expiry date ay lalagpas sa July 1 at gusto nyo pong palitan para ma-extend o magkaroon ng expiry date ay puwede nilang iprisinta sa supplier para palitan at alisin ang expiry date,” matud pa ni Maglaya.
Gibutyag usab ni Maglaya nga aduna usab mga exempted niining kamanduan ilabi na kun naapil sa promo ang usa ka GC.
Ang mga exemptions niini nag-apil sa mga gift checks, vouchers, cards o certificate nga nakakonekta sa usa ka promo. Tungod kay kun promo, aduna kini gitakda kun kanus-a taman ang usa ka promo o aduna kini promo period.

FIRST was the 2012 Global Peace Index by the Institute for Economics and Peace that ranked the Philippines among the top five nations that registered “improvements in peacefulness.” The Pulse Asia’s Ulat ng Bayan survey results came next that showed high approval ratings on the Aquino Administration’s efforts in “increasing peace in the country.”
“Similar to other governance reforms being implemented under this administration, President Aquino’s continuing efforts on peace and security are already being felt and recognized not just by our people, but also by the international community.” said Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) Secretary Teresita Quintos Deles, who welcomed the results of both studies. “These will further raise the public’s hopes for a just and lasting peace” she added.
The 2012 Global Peace Index report stated that the Philippines’ high score was a result of improvements in the indicators which are homicide rate; number of deaths from internal conflict; likelihood of violent demonstrations; and incidence of terrorist acts.
Moreover, it said that the country previously rated at moderate or high levels in the four indicators. Among the incidents which affected the ratings in the past years include the conflict between the national government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in mid-2007; the Maguindanao massacre in 2008; and violence perpetrated by the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu in 2011.
The other countries in the Top Five ranking are Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Bhutan and Guyana.
On the other hand, Pulse Asia’s Ulat ng Bayan National Survey conducted on May 20 to 26, 2012 pointed out that 50 percent of respondents approve of the P-Noy administration’s efforts on “increasing peace in the country.”
Efforts to fight corruption in the government garnered the highest approval score of 58 percent, while fighting criminality and enforcing the law equally on all citizens got 56 percent and 52 percent, respectively. (OPPAP)

THE United States (US) State Department’s 12th Annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report which kept the Philippines in the Tier 2 Category is a recognition of the Aquino administration’s multi-pronged and aggressive initiatives to curb human trafficking in the country, a Palace official said on Thursday.
Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda issued the statement following the release of the US State Department’s 12th Annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report which underscored several key achievements of the Philippine government in its drive to eliminate human trafficking.
“We will continue to improve our efforts and we would like to be taken out from Tier 2,” Lacierda said.
He said the government is currently tightening the noose against illegal traffickers and recruiter who prey on our hapless countrymen.
The Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking in Persons (IACAT) formulated programs to ensure that human trafficking across the country is put to a stop.
Other gains cited in the 12th Annual Trafficking in Persons Report include the apprehension and filing of criminal and administrative charges against government personnel suspected of conniving with human trafficking syndicates or aiding their operations.
The TIP report also highlighted the continuing accomplishment of the government in the prosecution and conviction of trafficking offenders as well as in helping victims.
The US State Department also lauded the importance placed by the Philippine government in training public officials, particularly in establishing human trafficking indicators, with reference to Filipino migrant workers’ pre-deployment overseas.
The report also cited the cross-border efforts of the government to secure the interests and rights of overseas workers through bilateral agreements, particularly labor-related accessions with foreign countries.
A total of US$ 1.5 million or about P65 million was appropriated by the Philippine government to support its operations against human trafficking, prosecution of offenders, and for the protection of the public from this global menace, according to the report.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said the Tier 2 status officially recognizes a country’s significant efforts to adhere to the benchmarks prescribed by the US State Department to meet the minimum standards.
Tier 1 countries fully comply with the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) minimum standards while Tier 2 countries do not fully comply, but are making significant efforts. (PCOO)
