Kining bag-ong balaod ang hiniusang Senate Bill No. 3400 ug House Bill No. 6860 nga gipasar sa Senado ug Ubos Balay Balaoranan niadtong Hunyo 6, 2013.
“This Act builds on the current Science and Technology Scholarships offered by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through its Science Education Institute (SEI), as provided for in Republic Act No. 7687, otherwise known as the “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994,” matud pa sa Presidente.
Gawas sa scholarship, may uban pang dugang mga incentives nga madawat ang mga kwalipikadong tinun-an ug magtutudlo niining scholarship program.
Ang DOST-SEI ang gitahasan alang sa evaluation, award-giving ug monitoring sa scholarship grants ug awardees.
Samtang gitahasan ang Department of Education (DepEd) sa pagsiguro sa job placement ug hiring sa mga kwalipikadong graduates ubos niining programa isip secondary school teachers sa science, mathematics ug related technology courses ug pagsiguro nga ang mga magtutudlo nga kuhaon sa Special Science Teacher mga salary grade levels.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Sept. 3 (PIA)–Gilagdaan na ni Presidente Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III ang balaodnon nga manalipud sa katungod sa mga tinun-an batok sa posibleng pang-abuso sa mga Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) kalabot sa katungod sa mga estudyante sa pagpili sa gusto nilang review centers.
Gilagdaan sa Presidente niadtong Agosto 23 ang Republic Act No. 10609 o gitawag nga “Protection of Students’ Right to Enroll in Review Centers Act of 2013”.
Samtang ang nasud mi-ila sa complementary roles sa mga public ug private institutions sa pagpalambo ug pagpalig-on sa educational system, miingon si President Aquino nga “the state has the responsibility to ensure the protection of students against possible abuses by HEIs in relation to the right of students to choose their review centers”.
Kining bag-ong balaod nag-apil sa tanang public ug private HEIs, apil na usab ang mga local colleges ug universities, tanyag nga mga kurso nga nag-require og professional licensure examinations.
Ubos niining bag-ong balaod, ang HEIs dili kapugos sa mga tinun-an nga mi-enroll sa mga kurso nga nag-require og professional examinations nga mokuha og review classes nga dili sakop sa curriculum, sa review center nga pinili sa HEI’s.
Gidid-an usab niining balod ang HEIs nga mohimo og review classes nga prerequisite alang sa pagtapos o completion sa kurso.
Gi-bawalan usab ang sa mga HEIs sa pagpugos sa mga estudyante sa pag-enroll sa review center nga pinili sa tunghaan ug mobayad sa ubang mga bayronon nga nag-apil sa transportation ug board and lodging.
Gidid-an usab ang mga HEIs sa pagpugong sa paghatag sa transcript of scholastic records, diploma, certification ug uban pang mahinungdanong dokumento sa mga tinun-an.
Bisan kinsang opisyal o empleyado sa HEI apil na ang mga deans, coordinators, advisers, professors ug uban pang hingtungdang indibidwal nga mapamatud-ang molapas niining balaod adunay silot nga prison correcional o pagkabilanggo gikan unom ka buwan hangtud unom ka tuig ug may piyansang P750,000.00.

President Benigno S. Aquino III has signed into law a bill aimed at expanding the coverage of the Science and Technology (S&T) Scholarship Program and building a pool of highly qualified science and math teachers in the country.
The Chief Executive signed on August 23 Republic Act No. 10612 otherwise known as the “Fast-Tracked S&T Scholarship Act of 2013”.
The newly-signed Act, which is a consolidation of Senate Bill No. 3400 and House Bill No. 6860, was finally passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives on June 6, 2013.
“This Act builds on the current Science and Technology Scholarships offered by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through its Science Education Institute (SEI), as provided for in Republic Act No. 7687, otherwise known as the “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994,” the President said.
The law envisions a fast tracking of more science, technology, and engineering graduates by offering scholarships to deserving students in their third year of undergraduate study, based on their competitiveness and merit.
The state also offers additional incentives to attract the graduates of the scholarship program to pursue a career in teaching science, mathematics and technology in high schools, especially in their home regions.
The DOST- SEI shall be responsible for evaluation, award-giving and monitoring of scholarship grants and awardees.
The Department of Education is hereby tasked to ensure job placement and hiring of qualified graduates under this program as secondary school teachers in science, mathematics and related technology courses, and to ensure that these teachers are hired at Special Science Teacher salary grade levels, as specified in this Act. The DepEd is also tasked with the evaluation and monitoring of hired teachers under this program.
Within sixty (60) days from the approval of this Act, the DOST and the DepED shall promulgate the rules and regulations to effectively implement the provisions of this Act.
The amount necessary to carry out the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year’s appropriations of the SEI under the DOST.
In addition, the SEI is authorized to accept grants, contributions and/or donations from domestic and foreign sources for scholarship grants.
This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette and in at least two (2) national newspapers of general circulation. (PND)

Sa panagpulong nga gipatawag sa pangulo sa Sibuyas ng Pilipino Ating Alagaan (SIPAG) nga si Francisco U. Collado sa kaulohan nga gitambungan sa kapin 100 ka mag-uuma ug onion growers, gihangyo niini nga ipahunong na ni PNoy sa Department of Agriculture (DA) ang paghatag og import permit sa usa ka grupo nga giingong usa ka sindikato.
“Ang pagbaha ng imported na sibuyas at bawang sa bansa ay pumapatay sa aming kabuhayan dahil bagsak ang presyo ng mga sibuyas at bawang galing China at Vietnam o karatig bansa.
