The P330 B emergency livelihood program will start 3 Million jobs, aside from the 1 million promised are expected by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. This program is for the poor and underage who stopped going to school.
Arroyo herselfr decreed to her Cabinet to start new job opportunitites beside from their regular programs.
One million urgent jobs are started by the government as an answer tot the global crisis as to regress its effects to the poor.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo says that in this year peace talks with Mindanao will resume.
From the beginning, Mindanao has been in chaos. From 2001, the peace started to come back but was collapsed when the terrorists from the MILF persecuted and killed civilians including fellow Muslims.
After the seminar for the members of the Government Panel for Peace Process, Arroyo says that the panel is ready for talks in stopping the war, the International Monitoring Team, and what the future holds for Mindanao

A no-show by invited cause oriented groups during the latest Local Peace Forum (LPF) last week failed to dampen the spirit of Bohol peace advocates.
During a recent interview, Capitol Peace and Order consultant, Romeo Teruel said the LPF would continue to find ways and opportunities where issues and concerns can be ventilated when the Provincial Peace and Order Council could not provide the venue.
Local peace advocates also hope that this year would be a year when the stalled talks resume. (rachiu/PIA)

Wary that there might be a problem in Bohol’s rice production this cropping season, an aggie research facility head here urges farmers to report anything unusual about their farms.
This as the government through the Department of Agriculture and the Capitol distributed roughly 22 thousand bags of certified and hybrid rice to maximize on the harvest and stockpile a good buffer for the speculation of another rice crisis in 2009.
A hybrid and certified rice farm yields 3.5 to 6 tons per hectare while traditional rice yields much less, data from the APC shows. (rachiu/PIA)

More Tourism jobs are opened for Bohol as the Department of Tourism is confident they can share in President Arroyo’s program to provide one million new jobs.
In Bohol, local tourism authorities eye an increase of 50,000 tourists this year. Despite the global crisis, DOT Secretary Durano is confident of continued tourism activities and that local authorities can attain its target this year. As the DOT secretary expects 3,000 new hotel rooms to be opened up this year, Bohol also see a raise in rooms as flurry of building activities is evident in Panglao and other resort towns.
The DOT expects 3,000 new jobs based on the one-is-to-one ratio of tourist to a new job. To make Bohol ready for the additional influx, the DOT launched the Tourism Apprentice Program as a new “investment” to train students of tourism-related course become DOT’s ambassadors.
It hopes to attain this by exposing students to tourism destinations in Bohol and in the country. Aside from Bohol, DOT Aprentice program includes Davao, Palawan, Cebu, Boracay, Iloilo and Bacolod as destinations. (rachiu/PIA)
