TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, July 5 (PIA)–Miseguro ang Commission on Elections (COMELEC) nga andam silang mosunod sa mahimong desisyon sa Korte Suprema sa mga petisyong gipasaka nga mikuwestyon sa balaod nga nagbalhin sa piniliay sa Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) sa Agosto 8.
Matud pa ni Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes, gihulat na lamang nila ang mahimong pinal nga aksyon sa Korte Suprema ug andam silang mosunod niini. Kun imando sa Korte Suprema nga ipadayon ang piniliay sa ARMM, mangayo sila og dugang duha ka buwan aron maandam ang tanang mga kinahanglanon apan mahimong mano- mano na lamang kini og dili na automated tungod sa kakulang sa preparasyon.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, July 5 (PIA)–Gimando sa Office of the Ombudsman ang pag- imbestiga kang kanhi presidente ug karon Pampanga Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo sa isyu kalabot sa P728 milyong fertilizer fund scam.
Sa gipagawas nga kamanduan ni acting Ombudsman Orlando Casimiro nga gibasa sa tigpamaba sa Ombudsman nga si Atty. Mary Rawnsle Lopez, gi-aprubahan ni Casimiro an pagtukod og fact-finding team aron mag-imbestiga kang Arroyo base na usab sa reklamo nga gisang-at ni kanhi Solicitor General Attorney Frank Chavez ug sa grupong Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP).
Samtang gibasura usab ni Casimiro ang nauna nang rekomendasyon nga ma-dismiss ang maong kaso batok kang Arroyo tungod sa kakulang og lig-on nga ebidensya. Pasabot sa Ombudsman, tataw nga ang secretary mao ang alter ego sa presidente nga adunay direktang kontrol ug nagduma sa mga cabinet secretary.
Tuyo sa maong kamanduan sa Ombudsman nga mahibaw-an kun unsa man ang tulobagon ni Arroyo sa paggasto sa fertilizer fund ug diin kini padung. Gawas kang Arroyo, kauban usab nga pa-imbestigahan sa Ombudsman si kanhi Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn ‘Joc-joc’ Bolante.

THE Judicial and Bar Council has voted on the list of nominees to fill up the shoes vacated by resigned Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez.
Included in the JBC’s shortlist is former Supreme Court Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales,believed to be the favorite of President Benigno Aquino III among the 27 aspirants. Moralesadministered President Aquino’s oath of office last year.
Also included in the list are Justice Undersecretary Leah Armamento, former Justice SecretaryArtemio Tuquero and Presidential Commission on Good Government Commissioner Gerard Mosquera, according to Supreme Court spokesperson Jose Midas Marquez.
Their names will be submitted to President Aquino who has 90 days to make his choice.

Green groups launched the Gawad Bayani ng Kalikasan 2011, an awards event aiming to seek out and recognize seven Philippine heroes/ heroines of the environment– nameless individuals, organizations, or communities who have selflessly spearheaded or helped lead significant environmental struggles and the protection of basic rights.
The Gawad Bayani ng Kalikasan (GBK) 2011 is open to all Filipino individuals, organizations and institutions who have demonstrated extraordinary ability and effort to uphold the environment and people’s welfare, whether in the form of advocacy, campaigns, education, research, technology development, community services, mass media or cultural work.
Seven GBK awardees (three awards for Individuals and Organizations and one Most Distinguished Award) will be chosen by an independent Board of Judges. Acceptance of nominations for the GBK is open until midnight of July 15, 2011.
Seven GBK awardees (three awards for Individuals and Organizations and one Most Distinguished Award) will be chosen by an independent Board of Judges:
- Most Distinguished Awards Awarded to an individual or organization in recognition of his/her/their being an inspiration and example to the Filipino people for offering time and talents for the defense of the environment and advancement of the people’s welfare.
- Individual Awards Awarded to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary ability and effort to uphold the environment and people’s welfare, whether in the form of advocacy, campaigns, education, research, technology development, community services, mass media, or cultural work.
- Organizational Awards Awarded to people’s and community organizations and institutions that have demonstrated unity in upholding the welfare of the people and of the environment by exemplary actions and advocacy, campaigns, education, research, technology development, community services, mass media, or cultural work.

The Gawad Bayani ng Kalikasan 2011 is organized by Center for Environmental Concerns, in cooperation with Gawad Bayani ng Kalikasan Awards Committee, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Foundation for the Philippine Environment, Agham-Advocates of Science and Technology for the People, Haribon Foundation, Ecowaste Coalition, Panalipdan Mindanao and Central Visayas Fisherfolk Development Center Inc.
The first GBK kicked off in 2009 naming the late anti-mining activist Eliezer “Boy” Billanes as the recipient of the Most Distinguished Awardee. The GBK Individual Awardees were the Ata-Manobo leader Datu Guibang Apoga, Manny Calonzo of the Ecowaste Coalition and the dean of University of the Philippines Tacloban Margarita dela Torre- dela Cruz. The winners of the GBK Awards for Organizations were grassroots- based organizations Cordillera People’s Alliance (CPA), the Central Visayas Fisherfolk Development Center Inc. (Fidec) and Seamancor Eco-Developers Inc. of Sorsogon.
