Edtech startup Edukasyon.ph and MIT International School have signed an agreement to create an online application service to give students in the National Capital Region a faster way to know about the benefits of a global education.
Edukasyon.ph Chief Executive Officer Linartes M. Viloria and University President (School founder) inked the agreement on June 2016 at the MIT International School campus in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
“We are more than excited to be partners with MIT International School, an institution that shares our goal. This partnership not only makes application to MIT International School online but more in the awareness drive for local students on how to acquire a global education, specifically the Advance Placement program. An option that is not as considered or explored by the majority of our high school graduates,” said Edukasyon.ph CEO Linartes Viloria.
The partnership will aid students to thoroughly explore the benefits of an Advanced Placement program and compare it to other educational options in the country. All this can be done on the Edukasyon.ph website which features information about MITIS’ K12 counterpart program which is the Advanced Placement Program, scholarships, and qualification requirements.
“MITIS’ partnership with Edukasyon.ph aims to widen the educational opportunities than what the status quo currently offers our high school students, both from Junior and Senior High. This partnership ultimately caters to students who are looking at studying abroad for college. This is how our Filipino youth will know that acquiring a global education is not limited to the elite few. That our main thrust in providing a global education in a caring and supportive environment will extend to more Filipino students” Mar Kathryn C. Malanum, Principal, MIT International School.
With MITIS’ Advanced Program, that specifically aims to provide high school students with the opportunity to take subjects equivalent to a first-year college course. This program not only makes the students acquire a college-level knowledge, skills, and training but credits them college units as early as Grade 11.
“We support Edukasyon.ph’s vision in providing more opportunities for students to study abroad. We want our students to be more aware of the benefits of acquiring global education, and we feel that most local students do not even consider such options solely because they don’t know how to go about it. Edukasyon.ph will help us give much-needed information to more students,” Malanum added.
Edukasyon.ph- MIT international School partnership is spearheaded by Edukasyon.ph Study Abroad Coordinator Camille Armas. Through Edukasyon.ph’s Online Application and Online Tuition payment services, incoming MITIS students can directly apply to their chosen school and pay their tuition via Edukasyon.ph.
