MANILA, Mar. 19, 2014 (PIA)–Gi-aghat sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang publiko nga makighiusa sa pagbatok sa pornography ug child abuse.
Nihangyo ang DSWD nga i-report dayon ang mga porn sites sa National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) aron mapa-block kini sa internet service providers.
Matud pa sa DSWD, angay usab nga aktibo ang mga ginikanan sa pagbantay sa ilang mga anak aron dili sila magbaton og access sa maong mga sites.
Giingong mokabat sa 3,600 child porn sites ang nadiskubre sa DSWD ug sa uban pang hingtungdang ahensya.

PRESIDENT Benigno S. Aquino III said he will announce the administration’s bet for the 2016 election at the right time but in the meantime he will focus on governance to improve the condition of the people.
Politicians have started their posturing for the national poll two years from now.
“I will announce at the appropriate time. Pero sa ngayon, syempre naka-focus tayo sa problema ngayon imbes na ‘yung 2016 elections,” the President said in an interview during the Pinoy Music Summit in Malate, Manila on Wednesday.
The year has just started and the President said he hopes his allies would understand his priorities at this time.
With the onset of the rainy season a few months from now, the President said he expects typhoons to come and he wants to make sure that communities are prepared against calamities. He added that he has a few months to establish those priorities.
Asked whether he thinks jockeying for positions by politicians was helpful to the country, he said it gives the people more time to scrutinize political personalities who show interest in running in 2016. (PND)

PRESIDENT Benigno S. Aquino III challenged the local government units to perform better and to continue the exercise of good governance assuring them that such practices will be rewarded by the national government through the Department of Interior and Local Government’s Seal of Good Local Governance.
Speaking before at least 1,500 local government officials during the general assembly of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), the President underscored the importance of sustaining the practice of accountability and transparency in local government units, which play a vital role in economic growth and poverty alleviation.
“Kayo ang nasa lokal na pamahalaan; kayo ang may malalim na pag-unawa sa mga pangangailangan ng inyong kababayan; kayo ang nasa magandang posisyon para gumawa ng mga kongkretong hakbang upang tugunan ang mga ito,” he said.
“Ang gusto ko pong bigyan ng diin: Ang Performance Challenge Fund ay para sa lahat ng gustong tuparin ang kanilang pangako bilang lingkod bayan. Hindi po kailangan ng palakasan at papogian. Hindi ninyo kailangang sumipsip para mabigyan ng Performance Challenge Fund,” he said referring to the incentive given to LGUs that pass the seal of good governance.
The President shared that last year, 719 LGUs were given Performance Challenge Funds with a total incentive of P1 billion.
President Aquino stressed that incentives were not only given to allies but to all LGUs that will meet the requirements of good housekeeping.
He likewise reported that a total of 1,372 LGUs or close to 84 percent of the total number of LGUs, have complied with the good housekeeping requirements.
He challenged the remaining 20 percent to keep up and join in the government’s transformation.
This year’s LMP general assembly was attended by 1,228 mayors coming from different provinces and cities in the country. (PND)
