(Former Trinidad Mayor Judith “Bb” Cajes as she delivered her message )
The LGU-Trinidad through its members of the Water Sanitation-Technical Working Group has conducted a 3- day leadership and water governance seminar last February 4-6, 2013 at the Trinidad Municipal Center of this municipality.
The activity was participated in by all the members of the Board of Directors of the 16 Barangay Water Service Associations or BAWASA being the end-users of the LGU-Trinidad-Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig sa Lahat Program or SALINTUBIG Program.

The seminar was attended by former mayor Judith “Bb” Del Rosario-Cajes and during her speech she reminded all the participants regarding the expected output of the seminar in which according to her is for the members of the BAWASA-Board of Directors to become self reliant in managing their respective potable water system particularly in maintaining its operation and its project sustainability in the long run.
Moreover, the former mayor also cited that one of the major concerns of the Administration of Mayor Roberto “Ondoy” Cajes is to have an affordable and safe potable water system in all barangays of Trinidad so that it could effectively help combat various water related deceases and to bring down as well the prevailing poverty incidence in his municipality.
The resource persons of the seminar were Mr. Jose Roel Tumarao, MLGOO and Engr Peolito Orioque, while the Community Organizers of the LGU-Trinidad SALINTUBIG project acted as facilitators.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Jan. 11 (PIA)–Cebu provincial election supervisor Atty. Lionel Marco Castillano will have to temporarily leave his post as the routinary reshuffling of election supervisors and officers takes effect on January 21.
He will be assigned temporarily here in Bohol while Bohol provincial election supervisor Atty. Eliseo Labaria is just waiting for an order from their central office in Manila according to Commission on Elections (Comelec-Bohol) information officer Juvenal Beniga during yesterday’s general assembly of the members of the Association of United Development Information Officers in Bohol (AUDIO-Bohol).
Beniga said, the Comelec, as a practice reshuffles staff before an election to maintain its neutrality or to meet an operational need such as when another officer is needed in a place or has a relative running for a political position in their area.
A month after the election, the officer or supervisor is returned to his post to continue his regular duties.
The original schedule of the routinary reshuffling was yesterday, January 10, but Comelec moved it to January 21 in response to the request of election officers in the region to be given enough time to adjust to the transition.
Meanwhile, Beniga reminded all the information officers present during this year’s AUDIO-Bohol first general assembly of the election gun ban that will start on January 13.
He said the Comelec, as well as the Philippine National Police (PNP) has been reminding those who have been granted permits to carry firearms outside residence that these permits have been suspended until June 12.
Baniga said that the election gun ban is for all public and private citizens and all others except those law enforcers who are in uniform or on duty including the PNP, the National Bureau of Investigation, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the prosecutors.
The Comelec however is issuing gun ban exemptions to those qualified individuals, especially those who are facing threats.
Beniga said Comelec will have a meeting with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and PNP on Jan. 12, a day before the implementation of election gun ban. (PIA-Boholecb)
Each of the 18 day care centres in the 16 barangays of Anda received a welcome surprise this Christmas. A married foreign couple, Robin Gurney and Birgit Naur, who have been living in Anda since October 2012, donated fans, chairs, story books, paper, crayons, toys and other educational materials at the monthly day care centre teachers’ meeting at the Poblacion day care centre in Anda on 28 December 2012.
At the meeting, Anda’s Mayor, Hon. Angelina B. Simiacio presented Robin and Birgit with certificates of appreciation as an expression of gratitude and sincere admiration of their selfless dedication and services rendered for conducting the distribution of priority needs.
“We live in Suba, Anda and we have started a number of projects to help eradicate child poverty in Anda. The first of these is to discover the priority needs of the 18 day care centres and start to fulfil them. We have personally visited all 18 day care centres, even in the most remote mountain barangays, to meet the teachers, take photos and find out exactly what is needed. Improving the day centres’ resources is just the beginning, we hope to be able to do a lot more in the future for all Anda’s children,” states Birgit Naur from Estonia.
Birgit Naur and her English husband, Robin Gurney say they are very happy living in Anda and want to use their skills, contacts, business experience and personal money to improve the facilities available to children of all ages in Anda.
Robin Gurney added that, “One of our most ambitious goals is to create a library & play centre in Anda and planning for that has begun. Also we are helping some of the most disadvantaged families directly with donations of beds, fans, clothes, books and other things. We will be creating a website to support our various child support projects in Anda. Through these we aim to solicit help, moral & financial support and various materials. We also hope to inspire other foreigners living in Bohol to do the same and share some of what they have with Bohol’s children.”
Anda’s day care centres are obviously very happy about these donations and in a combined statement issued on their behalf by MSWDO-designate, Mrs. JosieMarie Arabejo, they said, “Truly this noble work will change the lives of our indigent day care children and will improve the learning and teaching methods of the day care centres of the municipality. Your support will be forever in our hearts.”
