TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 29 (PIA)–Gi-anunsyo kagahapon ni Presidente Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III ang kinatibuk-ang P25 bilyon alang sa giingong Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure nga gitakdang ilusad sa Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) sa umaabot nga Hulyo.

Gihimo sa Presidente ang pahayag dungan sa pagtambong niini sa 75th anniversary celebration sa GSIS kagahapon.

Miingon ang Pangulo nga kini na ang pinakadakung pondo nga gigahin alang sa imprastraktura sa nasud ug pagadumalaon kini sa Macquire Group.

Gipaabot nga magpalambo pa kini sa ekonomiya sa nasud ug makamugna og dugang nga mga trabaho.

Sa niaging tuig, nakatala ang GSIS og kinatibuk-ang P60.4 bilyon sa net revenues.

Base sa GSIS Charter, mahimong mo invest sa pension fund state securities, equities ug sa ubang government-owned and controlled corporations.

Gobyerno sa China, uyon sa bag-ong PH envoy

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 29 (PIA)–Nagpahayag og hingpit nga pagsalig ang Chinese government sa katakus sa bag-ong gitudlong Philippine Ambassador to China nga si Sonia Brady aron mas mapalig-on pa ang bi-lateral relations sa duha ka nasud.

Gipahayag ni Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin nga naglaum sila nga sa mas daling panahon, masugdan na ni Brady ang iyang trabaho.

“We welcome the Philippine government to send the ambassador to Beijing as soon as possible, and we believe it will help strengthen communications between both sides through diplomatic channels,” matud pa sa opisyal.

Una nang gipa-ila sa Malacañang ang pagkatudlo kang Sonia C. Brady isip bag-ong Philippine ambassador to People’s Republic of China isip hulip ni Domingo Lee nga pakyas sa paglusot sa Commission on Appointments (CA).

Si Brady ang kanhi ambassador to China niadtong 2006 hangtud 2010, panahon ni kanhi Presidente Gloria Arroyo.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 29 (PIA)–Nakadawat ang lalawigan sa Bohol og pasidungog nga Seal of Good Housekeeping gikan mismo kang Kalihim Jesse Robredo sa Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Matud pa ni Robredo nga ang pasidungog nagpamatuod lamang nga gipatuman sa mga kadagkuan sa Bohol ang “mahusay at matino” nga awhag nga gipakadak-an sa administrasyon ni Presidente Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Gidayeg ni Robredo ang pagdumala ni Gob. Edgar M. Chatto ilabi na kabahin sa Purok Power Movement o ang Countryside Development Program-Purok Power Movement (CDP-PPM) nga programang mopalig-on ug mopalambo sa katawhan sa kabaranggayan.

Business confidence index sa PH, misaka – BSP

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 28 (PIA)–Misaka ang Overall Business Confidence Index sa Pilipinas matud pa sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Gikan sa 40.5-percent niadtong tuig 2011, misaka sa 44.5-percent ang confidence index sa nasud karong second quarter sa 2012.

Matud pa sa BSP nga mikita sa milabay nga mga buwan ang construction industry ug service-oriented establishment.

Ang pagsaka sa business confidence index ang giingong magpadali sa economic expansion sa nasud. Padayon usab ang pagdaghan og order ug pag-abli og bag-ong kontrata nga mo-resulta sa pagdaghan sa produksyon sa Pilipinas ug trabaho alang sa mga Pilipino.

Dugang pa sa BSP, nakatabang sa pagsaka sa business confidence index ang ubos nga interest rate ug pagdaghan sa remittances gikan sa mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW).

Brady, bag-ong envoy sa China

Aquino announces P25-B GSIS investment fund for infrastructure projects

PRESIDENT Benigno S. Aquino III announced on Monday the creation of a P25-billion investment fund which the Government Service Insurance System would allocate funds to strengthen infrastructure projects in the Philippines.

The President made the announcement in his speech keynoting the 75th Founding Anniversary of the GSIS held at the institution’s headquarters in Pasay City.

Dubbed the Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure (PInAI), the President said this investment fund, the largest single investment on infrastructure, would be formally launched in July of this year and is expected to improve the economy and provide more jobs.

“Sa Hulyo nga po ay ilulunsad na ang Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure o PInAI. Dalawampu’t limang bilyong pisong pondo po ang nakataya rito; ito ang pinakamalaking pondong ilalaan para sa imprastraktura ng bansa,” the President said.

He added that the GSIS would work closely with the Macquarie Group, a global provider of banking, financial advisory, investment and funds management services with more than 70 offices in 28 countries in ensuring the project’s success.

“Ang GSIS ang nanguna sa pagtataguyod ng pondong ito na pangangasiwaan naman ng Macquarie Group. Bukod sa ihahatid nitong serbisyo, magbubunsod pa ito ng lalo pang pagginhawa ng ekonomiya, at manganganak ng maraming trabaho,” the President said. (PCOO)

GSIS opens 200 college scholarship grants for SY 2012-2013

GSIS President and General Manager Robert G. Vergara announced yesterday that beginning May 15, low-income government workers may start nominating their children to the enhanced College Scholarship Program of the Government Service Insurance System (GSP)
where 200 slots are available for School Year 2012-2013.

“As part of celebrating our 75th anniversary this year, the current Board of Trustees revised the scholarship program to ensure that our low-income members will be given the opportunity to send their children to colleges and universities that provide quality education.”

Unlike in the past scholarship programs, the selection of scholars will no longer be done through an electronic raffle. The GSIS will instead accept scholarship nominees from members with a salary grade of 24 or below, or its equivalent. The nominee of parents with
the lowest salary grades will be given priority in the scholarship grant. Further, the nominee must be a child of the member and an incoming freshman accepted in the schools identified by the pension fund.

The scholar of the program will be entitled to the actual cost of tuition and miscellaneous fees not exceeding Php20,000 and a monthly stipend of Php2,000. The scholar may also opt to take a four- or five-year course but must meet the scholastic requirements set by the school for student retention under the program.

The distribution of the 200 scholarship slots per region will be proportionate to the number of GSIS members in each region. Thus, GSIS will select 60 scholars from NCR; three (3) from CAR; nine (9) from Region 1; nine (9) from Region 2; 16 from Region 3; 10 from Region 4-A; one (1) from Region 4-B;11 from Region 5; 14 from Region 6; 10 from Region 7; 11 from
Region 8; 12 from Region 9; 11 from Region 10; nine (9) from Region 11; 10 from Region 12;
and four (4) from Region 13.

The pension fund has already awarded a total of 1,371 scholarship grants since the inception of the program in 1998. From this total, 404 active scholars are currently enrolled in various colleges and universities nationwide as of April this year.

Aside from the scholarship program, the GSIS is granting its members, a Php4,000 educational assistance, which is payable in five years at six percent interest rate.
