NEW GOVERNMENT BLUEPRINT FOR DECENT EMPLOYMENT. The “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan: A Blueprint for Decent Employment and Entrepreneurship 2017-2022” prioritizes decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, formalization and growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), youth unemployment reduction, education and training. The Blueprint was signed by Secretaries Ramon Lopez (rightmost) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Silvestre Bello III (4th from L) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at the Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan (TNK)-Employment and Livelihood Summit on 2 December in Taguig. The Blueprint, which was presented to Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. (3rd from L), envisions full employment at 5% unemployment rate by creating 7.5 million jobs, by 2022, mainly in key employment generating sectors (KEGS) such as manufacturing including food processing, construction, tourism, Information Technology-Business Process Management (IT-BPM), transportation and logistics, and retail trade. Gov. Edgar Chatto graced the blessing and turnover of a 2-classroom building at Sacred Heart Academy in Loon. The building was donated by the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, Lockton Philippines Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers, Inc, and Energy Development Corporation under DepEd Adopt a School Program. The school which was situated beside the Loon Church was totally damaged during the earthquake and had to be relocated and rebuilt at a new site.

Edgar Chatto and Balilihan Mayor Pureza Veloso-Chatto with Department of Health Region 7 Director Dr. Jaime Bernadas lead ribbon cutting rites for the improved birthing center and TB DOTS center in Balilihan. The center is implemented under the Bohol Earthquake Assistance and Bottom Up Budgeting programs. Gov. Edgar Chatto met with Nestor Pestelos on the proposed community-based approach to illegal drugs demand reduction and recovery. Pestelos introduced to the governor drug addiction professional Miriam Cue, also a Bol-anon from Baclayon.
Cue, chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology, along with Jerry Joseph Valderama from the New Day Recovery Center in Davao also met with the Technical Working Group of the Provincial Government to discuss how the proposed strategy will be integrated into the comprehensive anti-illegal drug campaign.
Bohol currently holds the highest record of surrenderers in the anti-illegal drug campaign in the region and among most immediate provincial local government initiatives to ensure recovery of surrenderers are the establishment of a Center for Drug Education and Counseling, a bootcamp, and the establishment of a drug rehabilitation center alongside national government plans to make use of AFP facilities in the management and reintegration of surrenderers.
