RTC Judge Teofilo Baluma defends the integrity of the judiciary, since city government have protests of him handling the case filled against the City Square Project.
A motion for inhibition was filed by Mayor Lim after the case was assigned to Baluma.
Atty. Victor dela Serna, and fellow complainant-lawyers are pushing for the cancellation of the ROT contract of the former Agora public market now called City Square.
Baluma stressed the hearing of the case should be “transparent” and “without any further delay in the swift administration of justice”.
Baluma and the city mayor had a dispute, almost three years ago, when the said official purportedly sought the removal of the judge with the help of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Bohol chapter that supposedly became the receiving end of unfavorable court rulings when he was still assigned the Family Court.
Baluma made the assurance that he can dispose of the case “within the level of the law and available trends or jurisprudence without influence of any peripheral issues”.
The complainant-lawyers submitted their comments to the court conveying their “full faith and trust to the impartiality” of Baluma.
