The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between the government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), in regards to Bansa- Moro Juridical Entity (BJE), is cancelled. The BJE is concerned with the widening of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) area.
The Supreme Court said the MOA signing is cancelled, and released a Temporary Restraining Order to maintain status quo. The TRO was a result from a petition made by Congresman Erico Fabian of Zamboanga City. Fabian was against it since the government made negotiations with the MILF without making consultations on such matters with the local government of Zamboanga.
